What is Insaan?

‘Insaan’ means ‘human’ in Arabic, which reflects the foundation’s belief in the inherent worth and dignity of all human beings, regardless of their ethnicity, religion, or social status.

Our Story

The plight of refugees in Jordan reflects a narrative shaped by the conflicts and upheavals that have marked the Middle East in recent decades. While some, blessed with resources and education, seek sanctuary in wealthier corners of the world, the less fortunate find refuge in neighboring nations like Jordan.

From drought to rising unemployment rates, Jordan shoulders the weight of numerous hardships. Compounding these struggles is the substantial intake of refugees from diverse corners of the globe, forced to flee war, persecution, and various forms of violence.

The backdrop of the COVID-19 pandemic has further strained Jordan’s resources, testing its capacity to process and welcome new asylum seekers. Many find themselves entangled in prolonged waiting lists, lacking the proper documentation or work permits crucial for providing for their families. The crisis has also cast a shadow over numerous Jordanian families, especially those with special needs, who now navigate the compounded challenges of the pandemic.

Our Mission

In the face of these challenges, there emerges a crucial need to aid those who are most vulnerable, often marginalized and forgotten. This is where Insaan Foundation steps in, driven by the unwavering belief in the inherent worth and dignity of every human being, irrespective of their background or circumstances.

Our mission is clear: to extend a helping hand to those facing adversity, to provide sustenance where it is lacking, and to offer support to communities grappling with the consequences of conflict and displacement. By addressing the immediate needs of vulnerable families and fostering long-term self-sufficiency, we strive to build a sense of community and hope in the lives of those often overlooked.

Programs

The foundation’s activities are designed to address the immediate needs of vulnerable families, as well as to provide longer-term support that can help these communities become more self-sufficient. By providing these essentials, we empower families to redirect their resources toward other daily needs.
